The ex-Yugoslavian national teams will meet for the first time in the history. Montenegro welcome Serbia at City Stadium in Podgorica. These sides have the same statistics and lead the fourth quartet in the Division C. Will they score each other tonight?

Montenegro did not qualify for the Russian World Cup. The Brave Falcons finished on the third place after Poland and Denmark. They earned sixteen points as result of five wins and a draw. Another four fixtures ended with a loss. They scored twenty goals and conceded twelve goals.

The hosts began the new tournament with a goalless draw with Romania. Then they beat Lithuania 2-0 with first-half goals from Stefan Savic and Marko Jankovic. They earned four points and possess the first place in the group due to better goal ratio. They have two clean sheets in their record.

Serbia became the World Cup’s participant as the winner of the qualifying group D. The White Eagles earned twenty-one points and have a two-point gap over the Republic of Ireland. Their statistics contained six wins, three draws and a loss, twenty goals for and ten goals against.

The Serbians played three games in Russia. They beat Costa Rica in the opener. Then they lost to Switzerland and Brazil and missed the play-off stage. Two out of three their matches ended with both teams to score (no).

Serbia have also bagged four points in their first two outings. The guests have seen a thriller 2-2 draw against Romania in front of the home fans in September. They took a narrow 1:0 victory over Lithuania at away in their opener.

Sead Haksabanovic and Vukan Savicevic are the only two players missing from Montenegro’s most recent squad. Captain Stefan Jovetic is set to return, while Lazio defender Adam Marusic and Legia Warsaw midfielder Marko Vesovic are also among the players recalled after missing out in September.

Serbia will be without two of their most experienced players for the big clash against Montenegro, with captain Aleksandr Kolarov and vice-captain Nemanja Matic both withdrawing from the squad through injury. Nenad Krsticic is also injured. The absence of the former two, plus Branislav Ivanovic’s post-World Cup retirement, leaves Serbia light on experience with two uncapped players - Nemanja Miletic and Branko Jovicic - in the squad.

The bookmakers consider the visitors as the favorites of the battle of two neighbors. Indeed, they are more experienced, well-balanced and have a solid defensive line. We expect one team, as a minimum will have failed to score. We predict both teams to score (no) with a good coefficient of 1.80
