PRE-MATCH ANALYSIS

Tuesday of the World Cup will continue at Spartak Stadium in Moscow. Here Poland welcomes Senegal for the closing game of the first round in the group H. How will end the clash of two top-strikers, Robert Lewandowski and Sadio Mane?

The head coach Adam Nawałka’s charges are back at the World Cup after a 12-year absence. Poland were drawn in Group E along with Denmark, Romania, Montenegro, Kazakhstan and Armenia, a group where no teams took part at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Poles passed through the qualifying stage with a minimum of losses. They earned twenty-five points after ten games as the result of eight wins and one draw. They have scored 28 goals and conceded 14. On 8 October 2017, after conceding a draw at the 83rd minute, Poland defeated Montenegro by 4–2 and qualified to the 2018 FIFA World Cup as UEFA Group E winners in a campaign that saw Robert Lewandowski score a European Qualifier record 16 goals and become the nation's top goalscorer.

At their first ever FIFA World Cup in 2002, Senegal defeated defending champions France in their opening match and went on to make the quarter-finals, before going down to a golden goal against Turkey. The captain 16 years ago – Aliou Cisse – has also gone on to become the coach. His Lions won the African qualifying group D by beating Cape Verde and South Africa both home and away, other two fixtures with Burkina Faso ended with a draw.
